LEAN 101

Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters' in-house Lean 101 Workshop encompasses a full-day, interactive overview of lean tools and methodology. This is a beginner course with the purpose of introducing lean tools to those who have never had any exposure to lean. Additionally, this is a great refresher course for those with a background in Lean to ensure the team have the same foundation. Participants will learn the basic history and evolution of Lean practices, as well as common terms and acronyms in order to leverage Lean tools in a group setting; and to tackle real, workplace situations.

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES

  • 8 Wastes | 5S | Value Steam Mapping | Huddle Boards
  • Learn the eight different types of waste and how to identify them in their daily work
  • Be introduced to 5S and the power of an organized work area through simulations. 
  • Learn how to look at each activity in a job as a process and determine where inefficiencies are occurring. 
  • Learn how to overcome communication barriers through the use of huddle boards and other communication tools.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Those requiring an introduction to the philosophy, terminology and core tools of LEAN Thinking. Suitable for everyone in the organization from senior leadership to front-line and support staff.
